About Dronagiri


The Dronagiri is located at the southern end of Navi Mumbai. The zone is located to the east of Uran node, and is surrounded by the Karanja River on the south-east. Residential areas and commercial areas are located to the west and north-west of the Node, while the (JNPT) area and township are located towards the north of node. The zone is adjacent to the JNPT port, and is located farthest from the central business districts of Belapur, Nerul and Vashi. Growth Engines for Dronagiri


1. Sewri Sea Link:

This area will greatly benefit from the commencement of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) or the Sewree Sea Link as it is popularly known. The Sewree Sea Link will connect Sewri (where the rates are in the range of Rs.30,000 / sq.ft) to Dronagiri (where the rates are in the range of Rs.4,000). The length of the link is 22 kms and travel time on the link should be less than 15 mins. This project was in ambiance for quite a few years, but now has got a boost due to a recent Central Govt. decision to fund the project with 1920 crores . the largest Central Govt. funding to a State Govt. project.

  • 2. Seawoods - Uran Rail Link:

    The Railway work is in full swing and the Rail connectivity to the area is scheduled to be operational by 2015. In fact, the station at Dronagiri is under construction. A railway line already exists, but this line is now being used by wagons only but once the connection to Seawoods is complete, it will boost the reality rate dramatically.

  • 3. Reliance SEZ:

    The development of the SEZ by Reliance will give the whole area a boost. The Growth Triangle: "Dronagiri - Uran - Nhava Sheva".

        1. Dronagiri is located at the southern tip of Navi Mumbai, India. The zone is located to the east of Uran town, and is bound by the Karanja River on the south-east. Residential areas are located to the west and north-west of the zone, while the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) area and township are located towards the north of the zone. The zone is adjacent to the JNPT port. Due to its proximity to the port, this zone is ideal for commercial development. More importantly, Dronagiri will be the closest node to Mumbai City once the Mumbai Transharbour Link is complete. The situation will be unique as a bridge of 22 kms length (or 15 mins drive) will link two areas . one with rates of over Rs.30,000 per sq.ft and the other one with a rate of less than Rs.5,000 per sq.ft.

        2. Uran is situated east of Mumbai, across the Creek and has developed into a special economy zone. It has ample industries, namely container terminals like JNPT, DP WORLD (ex P&O), APM terminals (ex GTI) and other shipping companies, GTPS, MSEB (Asia's first power plant run by gas) and ONGC.

        3. Nhava Sheva was developed to relieve pressure on Mumbai Port. It was inaugurated on May 26, 1989. It is one of the largest ports in the world. A ferry service operates between Nhava Sheva and the Gateway of India. Nhava Sheva is well connected to major highways and rail networks in India. The expansion plans for the port, include extensive new terminal access points and connecting roads.

    1. Navi Mumbai has an efficient integrated transport system covering all modes of transports. Proposed Navi Mumbai airport , Metro, Mono rail and Water Transport will take Navi Mumbai to greater and newer heights.
